Negotiating for Workplace Safety

Competing organizational priorities and adversarial employee relations, in both collective and non-collective environments, prevent many Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) professionals from furthering Fitness for Duty in the workplace. This session is aimed at sharing negotiating best practices; best practices proven to create more organizational value through an interest based; collaborative approach. A summary of the key research findings from over 10 years of negotiation publications from the Harvard Negotiation Project, translated into practical tips and concepts is a “must have” for HSE professionals’ safety toolbox, a guide to navigate around safety’s biggest obstacle – competing stakeholder interests.
