Suncor Random Testing – Delay in Implementation FAQ

The Court of Queen’s Bench heard an injunction application filed following Suncor’s announcement that it would begin random alcohol and drug testing in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) on December 1, 2017. 

The judge has delayed his decision to grant or deny the injunction until a later date.

At this time, Suncor is voluntarily and temporarily pausing implementation of random alcohol and drug testing of all workers in safety-sensitive or specified positions in the RMWB, pending the Court of Queen’s Bench Decision.

All other aspects of Suncor’s Alcohol and Drug policy remain in effect.
